Who we are

This website is run by Victory Real Estate Agents, a real estate agency based in Melbourne, Victoria. When this policy says “we”, “us” or “our”, it means Victory Real Estate Agents. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We only collect what we need to help you find and buy property. That includes:

• Enquiry details. When you fill in an enquiry or contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number and anything you tell us in your message, such as the properties or suburbs you are interested in.
• Sign-in email. To view our full property list you sign in with a one-time link sent to your email address. We store your email address, when you signed in, and a secure session cookie that keeps you signed in.
• Website usage. Like most websites, our servers record basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. We may also use analytics tools that set cookies to help us understand, in aggregate, how people use the site.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• respond to your enquiries and send you the property details you ask for;
• let you sign in and see listings that are only available to registered buyers;
• keep in touch about properties that match what you are looking for, if you have asked us to;
• keep the website secure and working properly, and improve it over time; and
• meet our legal obligations as a licensed real estate agency.

We do not sell your personal information. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, and every marketing email includes a way to opt out.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where it is needed to help with your enquiry or to run our business. That may include the developer or vendor of a property you enquire about, finance and legal partners you ask us to connect you with, and service providers who host our website and send our emails. We ask these providers to protect your information and only use it for the job we give them. Some of them may store data outside Australia.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. One keeps you signed in after you use your email sign-in link. Others, if analytics is enabled, help us measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you will need to allow our sign-in cookie to view the full property list.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Our website uses encrypted connections, sign-in links expire after a short time and can only be used once, and access to our systems is limited to staff who need it. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Just email us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are worried about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If you are not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
